Me Cung Cave
Me Cung Cave is located on Lom Bo island, 2km southwest of the beach at Ti Top island. The name Me Cung means Bewitching. The entrance to the cave is very narrow, allowing only one person to squeeze through at any one time.
Then it widens intoseveral small and narrow chambers, with beautiful stalagmites andstalactities. The cave is dry and well ventilated. There is a thicklayer of shells on the ground. Archaeologists believe that there was anew Stone Age culture at Me Cung Cave between 7000 and 10,000 yearsago. As you exit Me Cung Cave, climb up a few stone steps to arrive ata lake surrounded by the mountains. There is a wide variety of fish, shrimps and algae that makes the lake their home.

How to go to Me Cung Cave

Me Cung Cave may not be part of every itinerary. It is not a majorsight, so you may have to ask your boatman to point it out, should yourboat pass its way. You can easily book a tour of Halong Bay from any travel agencies in Hanoi. If you wish to use the tour agency that I used, you can contact Mrs Moon of Golden Sun Hotel, 23 Hang Hahn Street, phone: +84-4-8286316, email: goldensun_hotel@yahoo.com.Tell her that Tim of AsiaExplorers sent you, and perhaps you'd get adiscount. No, I am not getting any commission from Mrs Moon, but Iwould recommend any establishments that satisfied me, so that, should Ireturn to GoldenSun Hotel, I can expect VIP treatment!
